  • The Ordinary
    Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

    Kenedi Chapman

The Ordinary's glycolic toning solution is the perfect summer product for all skin types. At seven percent acidity, it's a strong chemical exfoliant. Because of this, I recommend using it once a week to every other week if you have sensitive skin.

This product works so well at keeping oil at bay and removing dry patches and if you have oily, combo, or normal skin, I recommend using this product one to two times a week.

Another great thing about this toner is that at two dollars per fluid ounce, it's incredibly affordable. And just a little bit of this product goes a long way! As with every exfoliant, please make sure you pair The Ordinary's toner with an SPF product after use.
  • CocoKind
    Turmeric Tonic

    Kenedi Chapman

This CocoKind turmeric tonic is amazing for the summer. It's gentle and doesn't contain strong actives so that you can wear it during the day and in direct sunlight.

I love using this turmeric tonic for active breakouts! It works so well without irritating the skin and can be combined with a lot of products already in my routine.

The product comes out clear and smells like turmeric, which I personally don’t mind since the scent disappears once the product dries. They also have a stick version of this formula, but I prefer the tonic because it’s clear instead of orange so that I can use it during the day.
  • Byroe
    Rice Cleansing Sorbet

    Kenedi Chapman

This is hands down one of my all-time favorite cleansing balms! I love double cleansing, especially during the summer, to get all of the sweat, grease, makeup, and SPF off of my face before my second cleanse.

The Byroe Rice Cleansing Sorbet melts everything off of my face so quickly and so easily. I’m also not the greatest at describing scents, but I’d say this has a “fresh” scent that isn’t too overpowering.

I really enjoy this balm specifically because it does not leave an oily residue behind on my skin. Even though I’d be following up with an additional cleanser, I’m still not a huge fan of the oily layer that tends to get left behind with some other balms.
  • Farmacy
    Honey Grail: Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil

    Kenedi Chapman

This face oil is so lightweight yet hydrating at the same time. I have oily skin, but I still enjoy using Farmacy's Honey Grail in the place of actives and other harsher products.

This face oil has a light honey scent, which I personally really like. It's got tons of nutrients from real honey and other natural ingredients like buckthorn, too. You can also use it as a hair product! Just a little bit of Honey Grail goes a long way.

I use a lot of different oils, but this is one of my favorites to reach for in the summer since it's so lightweight! I recommend using this product at night, especially after a day in the sun. It will hydrate and nourish your skin.
  • Farmacy
    Daily Greens: Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer

    Kenedi Chapman

Farmacy's gel-based cream works wonders for my skin. This green moisturizer sinks in nicely into the skin. It’s not sticky and leaves my skin glowing!

The product comes in a glass container. I love the reduction in plastic waste! Plus, it has a nice, fresh scent that isn’t overpowering and is free of silicones, alcohol, and oil.

Farmacy's moisturizer helps my oily skin tremendously and regulates my sebum and oil production. I especially love using it in the summer to keep my oil under control. This is the best summer moisturizer I have ever used!
  • Caudaulie Paris
    Caudalie Grape Water

    Kenedi Chapman

I have nothing but good things to say about the Caudalie grape facial mist. I have just recently started incorporating face mists into my routine, and I don’t know why I didn’t start sooner! Face mists are a refreshing change to your skincare regime, and they're great for those with sensitive skin.

This product is extremely lightweight, doesn’t have any scent, and doesn’t leave a sticky film on my skin. It's completely organic and acts as both a toner and a moisturizer.

I put this in my fridge, and it works great during these hot summer months. It’s so refreshing and cooling! If you live in a super humid or hot area, I recommend looking into a light face mist such as this one.
  • Laneige
    Water Bank Hydro Essence

    Kenedi Chapman

I love the Laneige Water Bank Hydro Essence. First, it’s super light and has an almost gel-like consistency that I wasn’t expecting.

Even though this is an essence, I use it as a moisturizer because of my oily skin. It's the perfect substitute for a summer moisturizer! If you have oily skin, I highly recommend this, but it may not deliver enough hydration if you have dry skin.

I recommend applying this product to damp skin. It will sink in easily without leaving residue. In addition, the vegetable ingredients within will maintain your skin's hydration throughout the day. It does have a fragrance, but it’s extremely subtle, which is true of most Laneige products.
  • Farmacy
    Whipped Greens

    Kenedi Chapman

The Farmacy Whipped Greens cleanser is amazing! It’s better suited for combination to oily skin. While I'm not usually a fan of foaming cleansers, I really enjoy this product.

This Whipped Greens cleanser smells a bit like the Daily Greens moisturizer, which is my all-time favorite! It washes away easily. However, I wouldn’t recommend this if your skin is dry, as the foam may serve to dry it out further.

For oily skin types, however, this works like an absolute dream. The natural papaya enzymes will help exfoliate and cleanse your skin. The formula is packed with ingredients, which makes it great for the summer as it nourishes and hydrates your skin. It'll leave your skin super soft and give it a beautiful glow!
  • Paula's Choice
    Skin Perfecting Exfoliate

    Kenedi Chapman

I love the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting Exfoliate. BHA, or salicylic acid, has always worked much better for my oily-type skin than AHA, or benzoyl peroxide. So this product works well.

I apply this product like an essence, putting it in my palms and pressing it to my skin. The directions recommend applying the product on a cotton pad, but I personally find that this wastes too much of the toner. However, with my method, it's lasted me for a while!

I recommend using this only two to three times a week, as it does exfoliate the skin and can cause dryness or irritation. This exfoliating toner is great for blackheads, enlarged pores, and even wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Youth to the People
    Superfood Cleanser

    Kenedi Chapman

The Youth to the People's Superfood Cleanser is the best cleanser for oily skin during the hot summer months! This is my holy grail, a gel-based cleanser that cleanses without stripping the skin.

While this product is pricey, a little bit of it really does go a long way. If you aren't sure whether the cleanser is right for you or not, you can also get a sample size for 10 dollars; I've found that to be enough for a little over two weeks.

The packaging is glass, which I like. The only thing I don't like about this cleanser is sometimes it feels hard to rinse off or it feels like I didn't fully rinse it off. Because of this, I typically try to wash my face in the shower to ensure all of the product washes off. Otherwise, it's a great choice for the hot summer months!
