Whether you're about to start a recipe blog or just want to up your Instagram game with some tasty-looking photos, you might want to look into the tools you need for food photography. We've asked food photographer and Bay Area local Bryan Ngo (@definitelybayarea) to write about his favorite tools of the trade. Bryan says:
"Food photography has been a fun hobby of mine pre-pandemic and definitely became more interesting during the pandemic. It has given me the opportunity to think about what I personally use when I shoot photos.
There's no right or wrong answer, but it can be challenging especially when you don't know where to start or you've started and want to elevate your skills to the next level! These are products I'd recommend to consider."
Being able to experiment with your own style of photography is probably the most important part thing you can do. It brings out your creative side, it pushes you to think in a different way, and it allows you to really try new things without repercussions.
My biggest takeaway through my experiences is that there are endless possibilities when it comes to lighting and shadows. I hope this list of products helps to spark some ideas that you can apply to your repertoire!
