These can also come in handy if you struggle with acne on your face or body since they can help unclog pores. They will also clean your face and body deeply, preventing breakouts from happening.

To the best exfoliating washcloth for you, keep in mind its material, roughness, and other helpful features.
Exfoliating washcloths can be made of muslin cotton, microfiber, nylon, viscose, or bamboo materials usually textured or woven finely. Muslin is a soft, easy to clean, and lightweight fabric made of cotton. These washcloths are finely-woven and provide gentle exfoliation.
There are also cotton and microfiber washcloths that have textured waffle patterns to help with exfoliation. Microfiber washcloths come with fine fibers that exfoliate your skin without being too abrasive.
If you want more exfoliation, opt for washcloths made of nylon or polyester. These materials make washcloths feel like loofahs. They are more suitable for your body since they might be too abrasive for your face.
Washcloths made of viscose are rougher and more abrasive. These are ideal for getting rid of dead skin and build-up in your pores, making your skin soft and smooth. However, these might be too rough for sensitive areas of the body.
You can also find bamboo exfoliating washcloths. These are finely woven, and they are naturally antibacterial and antifungal. These are great for exfoliation and won’t irritate your skin.
Exfoliating washcloths are made with materials that differ in texture and roughness. However, manufacturers do not usually state or identify how coarse the washcloths are.
You can find washcloths for people with sensitive skin that are usually made of cotton and bamboo, materials that aren't too rough or abrasive on the skin.
If you have a specific roughness in mind, you should consider the washcloth's material. We recommend looking at the reviews to get an idea of its roughness and texture.
Exfoliating washcloths can have extra features that can help you exfoliate and cleanse better. Washcloths with charcoal in them help absorb oil and impurities from your pores.
Some washcloths are double-sided, giving you the choice of coarse or gentle exfoliation. You can also choose ones shaped for different parts of your body, like your feet or back.
In addition to reviewing and commenting on our buying guide, Dr. Levy also took the time to answer some commonly asked questions about exfoliating washcloths.
Dr. Levy says, "First, choose a cloth that is right for your skin type. Then simply use a gentle non medicated cleanser (one without AHAs) or just lukewarm water and gently wipe your face with the cloth. I like a circular motion instead of up and down as I find the circular motion to be less traumatizing to the skin.
After exfoliating, you can continue with your other skincare products like serums, acne medications, and moisturizer."
I generally recommend exfoliating twice a week, spaced out (meaning not doing it back-to-back)," Dr. Levy explains. "Some people like to exfoliate more frequently, especially if they have oily skin. I like to say start with one to two times a week, and if you feel like your skin can handle more without becoming dry, red, or irritated, then you can add it in more frequently."
If you want a bit more than just a washcloth to help exfoliate, consider some of these products!
