The TaoTronics TT-BH07 is a full-featured earbuds that can be had for less money than you might expect. While it is well-regarded for its unbelievable cost-to-performance ratio, some of the reviews for the product claim that it sounded static-y or that high pitched-tones were off, which is an understandable cause of concern for potential buyers.
To get to the bottom of the reviews, we evaluated and compared the sound quality of the TaoTronics TT-BH07 by using it in some real-world scenarios! Lastly, we provide some quick tips for using the earbuds and compare it to its sister model, the TT-BH07S. If you’re considering buying the product, then read on!
The TT-BH07 are Bluetooth earbuds sold by the consumer electronics brand TaoTronics, a worldwide electronics brand with a focus on portable electronics. It's a popular choice among Bluetooth earbud consumers due to its rich feature set and build quality despite its low price tag.
Since this model is meant for on-the-go and sport use, it comes with IPX6-certified water resistance and is built to withstand sweat and light sprays of water.
The earbuds come with 6 accessories, including earpieces and earhooks. Among these accessories is a pouch made of mesh material, which makes it very easy to take along with you anywhere!
This model comes in 5 color variants: black, green, pink, blue and red. Note however, that with most color variants, only the cord comes in a different color. The only exception is the pink variant, which also has the earbuds in pink.
Black, red and blue are great for buyers who prefer simple and subdued colors. Green and pink are best for those who want fresher and flashier colors.
The TaoTronics TT-BH07’s gentle fit means virtually no discomfort when these are worn. The ear hooks firmly fit into the ears, so they don’t easily fall off even with vigorous movement. The earpieces and hooks comes in 3 sizes – S, M, and L, making it easy to select the right fit based on your ear size.
While the TaoTronics TT-BH07 gets great reviews due to its cost-performance ratio, it does have its fair share of bad reviews that mention tin-can sound quality and flat tones. Of course, the best way to see if there is any truth to these claims is to put these buds to the test.
To test the reviews, we put the TaoTronics TT-BH07 through an actual use test and asked an earphone expert to evaluate the product based on the following criteria!
Despite its good cost-performance ratio, most of the unfavorable reviews focused on sound quality. Sound quality is something that is best reviewed by putting the earphones to the test through actual use.
To perform our testing, we prepared 4 songs from different genres and reviewed the differences in sound quality.
*All songs used were in AIEF format
Our first order of business was to test the high- and mid-pitched tones mentioned in the bad reviews. Although we did not experience any irregularity in high-pitched tones mentioned in the bad reviews, we didn't feel any of the expected impact from them either. This makes them unsuitable for listening to music based on high-pitched tones or female artists.
When it comes to mid-range tones however, it had a more powerful output than the other Bluetooth earphones we tried out. These earphones emphasize the "atmosphere" of each and every note.
As far as the bass is concerned, the bass sounded powerful enough to allow us to catch the rhythm of the music we played. When we played Zedd’s “Clarity” for example, the bass background immediately jumped at us and made us feel like we were part of the music. This makes them a great pair for sports, exercise, commuting, or pretty much anything fast and upbeat such as EDM or rock.
The TaoTronics TT-BH07 ranked a solid 5 out of 10 Bluetooth earphones we reviewed. We did not observe any of the flat high tones mentioned in the negative reviews, plus you can’t go wrong with that low price!
That said, it’s better suited for music that doesn’t rely on instrumental detail. Its bass is a little on the strong side, which sort of distorts the overall balance of the music.
As a result, we feel that this is unsuited for classical music or female artists whose pieces rely on high-pitched tones. On the other hand, it’s a great pair of Bluetooth earbuds for upbeat pieces like EDM and rock.
Bluetooth earphones are inherently different from their wired counterparts, so if you’re unsure how to use these buds then you’ve come to the right place! We’ll show you how to use the TaoTronics TT-BH07.
The TaoTronics TT-BH07 supports Bluetooth 5.0, which is the latest version as of 2019. Pairing can be done in 4 easy steps. When connecting, check the LED indicator to verify your connection status.
One of the most common issues people experience with the TT-BH07 earphones is being unable to charge, and the most common reasons for this are battery degradation or connector damage.
Most cases of battery degradation are caused by not using the earbuds for prolonged periods of time. To prevent this, remember to charge the unit on a regular basis using the included charging cable. Failing that, you can always rely on the 1-year warranty period or the 18-month extended guarantee.
We just took at look at TaoTronics TT-BH07 earphones. While its overall sound balance left a little something to be desired due to the overwhemingly powerful bass, this set still offers great value for price.
They’re not exactly a great pair of earphones for those who require detailed sound, but they’re a great pair for people who simply want to listen to music while on the move. Give them a try - they might just be right up your alley!
