Canmake Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek gets a lot of love on the Internet for the the high-quality color and durability offered at such an affordable price. However, there are reviewers that claim it doesn't blend into skin well, or it's hard to spread the color nicely. That's why we decided to purchase it and test it out for ourselves. We judged its finish, durability, and ease of use; here's what we learned.
Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek's main draw is that it provides amazing color with just one swipe. It's also quite affordable and comes in an adorable package. Here are some other things that make customers happy.
Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek is a 2-in-1 product that can also be used as a lip stain. You can complete a matching look of flushed cheeks and enlivened lips with just one product! We also like its slim and portable packaging, which also includes a tip for easy application.
This liquid cheek product is best known for its vibrant color and watery, easily blendable texture. It's also waterproof, which means liquid and sweat won't remove it halfway through the day. We'd recommend this to those that don't have a lot of time or energy to touch up their makeup during the course of the day.
Even taking all of Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek's positives into accounts, it's the negatives that can make you decide whether or not to put it in your shopping cart. Here are what some of the less-than-satisfied customers said.
A big chunk of negative reviews said it didn't look natural. They also said it didn't blend well into their skin and looked too vibrant. Also, we saw comments that said it worked fine as a liquid blush but that it dried out their lips. If your lips are prone to dryness, you may want to avoid this product.
Some reviewers said that the liquid blush went on too smoothly and was difficult to spread. You may need to try it a few times before you get used to it.
We had a group of editors put this liquid blush to the test. They specifically tested for:
Test ①: Finish
Test ②: Durability
Test ③: Ease of Use
We also purchased 8 other Japanese liquid blushes and tested them all. If you want to see how Canmake Juicy Lady Liquid Blush compares to the competition, check out the article below.
First, we tested the most important factor of a liquid blush: its finish. Since we saw a few complaints about the finish of Juicy Lady Liquid Blush being too vivid in color, we just had to test this out. Our makeup expert Fujiwara (introduced in the article above) helped us judge how well it blended into our skin and how natural it looked.
We didn't have many problems with this product blending into our skin, but we did think the color was too vivid to be considered as a natural finish. It doesn't have any glitter or pearl fragments in it to give you sparkle, but the color alone might be better for a younger audience.
We used the 01 Rose Hip shade for our test, which is a pink liquid with blue undertones. It would look great on those with paler skin, but maybe not on those with darker or yellow-toned skin.
Next, we wanted to see how durable of a product this was. The label said its waterproof qualities are strong enough to resist sweat, but did it stand up to our test?
For our test, we applied the liquid blush to an area of synthetic skin. We then sprayed a mixture of horse oil and warm water ("fake sweat") once and then wiped it off with a weighted tissue. Then we checked to see how much came off in the process.
As you can see, there's virtually no change in the before and after photos. There was hardly any color on the tissue and it stayed on the synthetic skin, so this product is fairly strong against both sweat and friction.
Finally, we analyzed how it felt to use. That meant looking at its texture, its spreadability, its packaging, and the included tip to see how convenient and portable they were. 5 of our editors graded them and the final score is an average of their individual scores.
This liquid blush has just a bit of thickness that would make you think it's hard to spread, but we didn't have any problems at all. All you need to do is tap on your skin with the tip and you'll have enough product to create your perfect flushed look. This is a stress-free addition to your makeup routine!
The tip of the included brush was soft on our skin and easily created the shape we were going for. You can easily adjust the amount you want to use like a lip gloss, and it's easy to pinpoint application. The case is compact and slim--making it great for taking on the go--and it was easy to open and close.
Canmake Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek placed rather low in our ranking of 9 liquid blushes, mainly because of its young-looking shade of bluish pink. We loved how durable it was, but we thought it was important to find products that could suit a wide range of people for our test.
If you have pale skin or blue undertones, though, this would be a fabulous addition to your home makeup collection or your on-the-go makeup bag!
Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek comes in three shades, all of which suit different skin tones and situations. The one we tested in this article, 01 Rose Hip, is great for those with pale skin or blue undertones. It's a great shade for beginners, since it won't show up too brightly with just a bit of product.
02 Mango Orange is best for those that want to look particularly lively. It's a red-orange that suits those with yellow undertones perfectly. It's pretty versatile, since you can make yourself look especially flushed with a lot of product, or you can look more mature with just a touch.
The final shade, 03 Apple Cherry, gives you the most natural flush. It gives you a bit of a dewy glow as well, so we'd recommend this for days (or dates) when you're feeling particularly saucy.
We put Canmake Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek to the test, and it wasn't all that bad. It ranked pretty low in our test overall, but we thought it was a great product for customers that have pale skin or blue undertones, especially considering how durable, compact, and easy to spread it is.
